Scott Katz is group vice president of learning solutions at SunTrust Banks Inc., where he provides leadership and management in the execution the Teammate Capability Strategy. In this capacity, his team is responsible for developing employees across all various bank segments (consumer, private wealth management, mortgage, wholesale and corporate functions).
Prior to SunTrust, Katz was director of people development at Turner Broadcasting System Inc., where he was responsible for leading executive development, performance management, succession planning, and informal learning across the enterprise. He also led the implementation of an integrated talent management technology solution across the organization.
In addition, Katz held a variety of talent management roles at The Home Depot, with responsibility for leadership development programs, succession planning, and career development. He also held roles in HR integration and organization effectiveness with The Home Depot Supply, a group of subsidiary companies.
Katz is certified in the Benchmarks 360 instrument through the Center for Creative Leadership, and in the Hogan Assessment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Georgia and enjoys spending time with his wife and identical twin boys.
